Meet Joey & Jack

04.28.18
The day I will marry my best friend.  The one i laugh with, live for, dream with, and love.

Our story begins like almost 10 years ago. It feels weird saying that. It does not seem like it was that long ago,but it feels like a life time ago.
Our first date started with a lovely dinner at the local Sonic restaurant (fast food we were classy). Joey made the comment on our way to Sonic that one of her memories of her father was going to Sonic with him. We then went to Wehrenberg Theaters in St. Charles. We saw the movie Dan in Real Life. It was a decent movie but what made it even better was the cute girl sitting to my left. After the movie we sat around and talked till I had to get her home. I had a great time that night. I will say it was weird dating my teacher's daughter, but I am so glad that I asked her out and she said yes.

The proposal

Well I wanted to do it around thanksgiving but since I wanted such a unique ring design that displayed the diamond Joey was given by her great aunt. After much searching I went to Walter's Jewelry on Main Street St. Charles who assisted me in designing the perfect engagement ring for Joey. I gave it a lot of thought on where I should ask her since we have been together and had so many special places in our relationship. I decided that I should go back to were it all began at St. Charles High School. There is a picture of my grandparent's, who also attend St. Charles High, standing in front of tree in the front of the school. However those who know St. Charles High knows there are a lot of trees so I had to look at the back ground to try and figure out which tree it was. However a lot has changed since the late 1950's. I got my brother Tom and our friends Christine and Hamilton together and met us at the high school on a cold December morning. I told Joey that my Grandmother wanted a photo of us and one with us and my brother. So after some photos I dropped down to one knee and told Joey how much I loved her and wanted her to be my wife and asked her to marry me. Then she cried and repeatedly said, "What?" for like a good minute until I told her does that mean yes and she nodded her head. We all then went out and celebrated at Lady Di's Dinner and had brunch. And before we could even finish telling our families the news got posted on Facebook and spent the rest of the day answering our phones saying yes we did get engaged after nine years of being together.
